Finally after two family surgeries, I found a little time this morning to snap a couple of pictures of the sock I’m working on. The first one from the cuff down with a pattern called baby cable. It makes a very elastic sock which I do like.

Still don’t have much time to knit. This will probably be a Taiwan project. A trip coming up in a couple of weeks. So many things happening in life at this point, I can sense the withdrawl inside because of it, as if internally the psyche needs some space and distance to deal with them.

Eny is still under recovery. His deviated septum surgery was tough on him. But he is on his way back and hopefully everything will be back to normal soon. Leo’s surgery went well and the first few days under percersit were tough. Since he stopped taking it and now control the discomfort with Aleve he’s also almost back to normal now. It’s going to be a long physical theraphy for him. But he is doing very well so far.

Sitting in the office and the overhead speaker came on telling everyone that there is a tornado watch. Two minutes later, it became a tornado warning and everyone was advised to go to the basement.

Hope the house fairs the warning ok, hope my babies are both inside being sheltered. Hope the trees keep standing around the house.

Going to Sandy’s for her famous burgers tonight. So many years, I haven’t had her burgers yet. It’ll be a treat I’m sure. I was thinking about her lately. It’ll be nice to catch up with her over a few drinks. We haven’t done that for a long while. I do miss those good times.

Literally! I woke up with Benny barking insistantly followed by Leo’s laughters and flowers in my face. It was late and I was still having a very elaborate dream, but what a pleasure to wake up to the beautiful flowers freshly cut and specially delivered in person. I’m so royally spoilt!!

Benny started barking when he heard the slamming of the car door. He wouldn’t go downstairs to find out who it is that has entered the house. When Leo came up the stairs, he found my brave dog hiding behind the corner and cranking his head around to see who it is. That’s my Benny!

I’ve been thinking about this blog. It was started to record the progress of my knitting projects. But lately, I blogged anything but knitting. Indeed, knitting has been pushed aside as summer arrives and more outdoor activities are occupying my time. And lots of other pressing issues are also demanding my attention, the job, the relationship, the house being so cluttered. Hopefully, little by little, things will settle down and I will have more quiet time to sit and knit and let my mind wander as it may. The treasues of those empty time where your hands are busy and your mind is free.

Discussed the timing of things again with Leo. Of course no solid decision has been made but we enjoyed sitting in front of the fire pit, sipping wine and uh-hum soy milk, and just talked. Never had the chance to let a relationship grow slowly in such a relaxed manner. It’s very endearing. A strong one must be built on these tiny shared time segments in understanding each other and exploring dreams. In this time is money, instant gratification world, we have certainly ignored the importance of sitting and doing nothing but sharing the company of one another, whether it be with your significant other, your children, your friends. Indeed, time is golden in these mutually appreciated, respectful moments.

Finally got the motivation to de-clutter the kitchen. It’s been a while since I paid attention to the house and things just got out of hand over time. It’s like the clutter in the mind, if you don’t keep up with the clearing, you end up with a mess that speaks more than you could with words.

Monday is usually my catching up day with the chores. Weekends are for fun, Tuesday and Thursday nights are for dancing classes. And somehow things start to all fall apart after Tuesday. Body gets tired, spirit gets low and the house suffers.

Since I got the new camera, through those lenses I saw a lot of beautiful things. Small things that are spetacular if you just stop to focus for a second. Life is full of beauty if you’d pay attention.

Took Benny to meet Manfred the mean kitty. We thought it would be a lot of hissing and barking. But they actually surprised us and were quiet and civil to each other. That was the first time Benny met another pet in someone else’s house. He behaved well and I was very proud of him. We then took him on a 2 mile hike in the park. Again, he behavd and followed me very well on the trail, no sniffing, no barking, he didn’t even contribute to the wilderness.

I took some pictures and they turned out so stunning. Well, stunning to me. I love this camera!

Tido threw up several times this morning and seemd a bit sick when I came back. Must be something he ate outside. But he’s doing better now and he is eating his food which is a good sign. Whew!
