The day started off pretty good with sun shining in the morning.  I went to the 2nd followup for the surgery.  The doctor said everything was going well and I am allowed to slowly build my exercise level back up.  Leo and I went to Luna’s for the $1.99  house breakfast.  The coffee is almost as much as the breakfast.   We both liked it cause breakfast is breakfast.  Nothing is really that different for scrambl eggs or home fries or the toast.  I like these meals as we eat and talk at leisure.  Or in the morning when we drink our coffee and talk at leisure now that he doesn’t need to rush into work in the morning any more.  He always makes coffee for me in bed.  I know, I know.  I’m royally spoiled.

After brunch, the weather was looking gloomy with the threat of rain.  Leo went to the trail trying to find his glasses and I stayed home and waited for some phone calls.  In the mean time, I got the throw out and found a new podcast (Cast-on) and listened to the last episode.  I like Brenda’s style of talking, she’s very soothing and friendly so I decided to subscribe to her podcast and downloaded all the episodes so I can listen while I knit or clean.  Also got the 3rd book of the Twilight series from Audible.  Now I’m all loaded and ready with the iphone.

Oh, yeah.  Leo found EveryTrail fo the iphone very interesting and has been using it whenever he goes hiking.  It can not only record your route but also allows you to take a photo and also remembers where the photo was taken, it then shows the elevation and the time you take for the hike.  Very, very impressive for a free app.

Later on, I came downstairs and ripped another video tape and burned a couple of DVDs.  This free form kind of day is just so easy to get into with no pressure or stress, and yet you are getting things done and productive and also learning and entertaining yourself at the same time.

I finished my Bolero 2 days ago.  And now I’m working on the Feather and Fan Throw in Suri Dream from KnitPicks.  I am on next to the last ball of yarn.  Almost done.  Maybe I will finish it today if I watch 24 and dance with the stars and knit.

Just learned a bad news of a friend and still processing it myself.  Life throws curve balls at you all the time and it is so difficult to stay on your feet sometimes.  Hopefully there is a silver lining to the whole thing.

Indians are losing 2-1 bottom of the 5th.

Picture taken and sent from iphone.

They finally won!!  The home run by Sizemore at bottom of the 8th sealed the deal.  I was chanting home run, home run as he batted.  And he came through.  It was great.

But it was very very cold up there especially when the wind was blowing.  My feet were numb by the middle of the game.  But it was worth staying and seeing the winning runs.

We also visited the restaurant and had a drink and Leo had a hamburger before we got to our seats.  That was fun.  Next time, we’ll get the one time food bar.   Seems like a good deal.

Reading written instructions for a pattern is slow and painful for me. especially if it’s a lace work.   After working on the fan and feather throw for a few weeks, it got boring and repetitive.  So I got the bolero out.  It’s a pattern from a Treasury of Knitting Patterns called Frost Flower.  Pretty soon, it got frustrating and the progress was crawling.  I need a chart for lace patterns.   Finally got the charting paper out and was going to do it by hand. Then I wondered if there is anything on the web.  Lo and behold, I found knitchart.

It is so exciting to find something high-tech in the low-tech craft.  Leo had to wait till I finished the chart before we went out to El Campeseno.  It is easy to use and after fumbling a bit, I managed to print it as a pdf too.  The knitting progressed much faster and easier after that.  It’s a wonderful world on the web.  You can almost find anything you need.

Noticed the symbols on another blog to share the post and saw sociable in the codes. Searched and found the plugin and installed it.  Saved me a lot of work to put them in myself.   It would be useful for the website pages too.

The web world is full of excitements.

Somehow a pop up sneaked into my wordpress and every time I went to my blog, a pop up came up.  I don’t know how it got in.  But after deleting everything and reinstalled wordpress, it finally went away.  Stay away!  Hackers!

It’s a computer day today.  I worked on the WordPress bug most of the time.  After it’s solved, I added the twitter link to the website and the individual blog.

Did a tape for Connie and burned a couple of DVDs.  I didn’t heed my own advice though.  I was lazy and let the tape run as one file the whole tine, then I downloaded some files and interrupted the process and had to start from the beginning again.  Then I tried to install something and that interrupted the 2nd time, and I had to restart.  Then as if I was trying to tempt fate, I did something and interrupted it again.  The last time finally completed.  I should know better!

Tim called and we chatted a bit.  Connie called and we chatted a bit.  And that was the day.  It’s so easy for me to fall into the grove and sit in front of the comptuer all day.  Too bad, I am not making a living out of it.  But I still enjoy it.

It seems that I will have a good day and a not so good day lately. I had a good time yesterday out with Leo. We had lunch at Lih-Wah and went to Miles Market for a few groceries. We made the stop at Carabu on our way back. All was good and I was not exhausted. But today is a different story. I got up insanely early befoe 6am. Went back for a nap at 8am. And just generally feeling tired all day. Even the vitamins were not agreeing with me and gave me an upset stomach.

Anyway, twitter and facebook are both very interesting so far. I like to get on twitter and see what’s happening of those I follow. I actually like those that are more personal. We are curious beings I guess. Even though I’m friends with my kids and their friends, I actually feel like intruding in their social network. Maybe they don’t want me to see what they are dong and who they are talking to. hmmm.

Now, the list of things to learn is getting long, bbedit, quicksilver for the Mac, and autohotkey, php, mysql for the web. Talked to Leo about hosting my site from home with AT&T. If the cost is comparable, we might just do that. After all, there won’t be any restrictions or hoops to jump through when you need to try seomthing. You get to see things on the backend. From the past experirences, it’s a lot easier when you can see the whole thing.

Just remembered the embed codes for videos yesterday and tried a few pages with them. Still I need to make smaller clips otherwise it just takes too long to download and play any video. Youtube is so popular, it may be good to just put all the videos there.
