We are having another great sunny day in the 70’s today!

Had a girl’s day out with Connie yesterday.  We had great lunch and went around town in the afternoon.  Her son Drew made us each a T-shirt with glittering ‘Group Therapy’ on top when we visited his shop.  I was very excited.  The technology has come such a long way.  His shop is lined with state of the art embroidering machines controlled by computer.  And it’s sparkling clean and organized.  He is Connie’s son no doubt.  He also runs a Windows server and use adobe products to do graphics.  He is a multi-talented man.  Jen is a lucky girl.  They are getting married soon.

Connie made these cake toppers with rhinestones glued to them.  They look fabulous.  We also visited a donut shop, a wallpaper shop.

When I got home, I was exhausted.  Had some of Leo’s freshly made Chili and spent the rest of the night resting in bed and knitted.  My stamina is just not there yet.  I didn’t feel too good last night.  But this morning after a good night’s sleep, I’m ok again.  Got to be patient with myself.

Leo and I went out to lunch and then to Walmart for some household stuff.  I was very happy to find a $5 baseball cap, a red one for me and a green one for Leo.  That was mu first cap so I was pretty excited.  Sometimes, simple stuff makes me happy.

After a simple leftover dinner, I’m downstairs getting the new 1 TB drive setup and moving some videos onto it.   I’m rippimg some VHS tape  for Connie now and in the mean time, blog and surf on the net.  Benny is sleeping in his bed next to me and Tido is in front of the heater on his blanket.  I think Manfred is hiding in the closet to get away from Benny.  He seems to be reacting to the joing medicine I got for him yesterday very well, he is more playful since last night.

Installed embeded video plugin for wordpress and tried it.   I’m able to show a youtube video but I really want to embed my other video files on the website.  Still working on it.

I think my stamina is getting better every day.  Although I felt a bit tired when we came home, I didn’t fall asleep right away.  Leo surprisingly did before me.  I did take a short nap and I’m up and working away now.  I’m meeting Connie tomorrow for lunch.  It should be fun.

The biggest event today was to take Benny for a haircut.  I waited in Border’s, had a piece of carrot cake and listened to the twilight audiobook and knitted for 3 hours.  Managed to finish Tido’s long overdue sweater.  This one was a quick knit with a worsted yarn.  I free-hand it and knitted it from the bottom up.  Surprisingly, it fits when I sawed the sides together and tried it on him.  I’m pretty happy,

ps. Ran into image upload problem for WordPress, but finally I figured it out and fixed it in the settings.  Yeah!!

Trying out twitter and facebook.  It’s a whole new world.  Got Leo to get on and try it too.  he he

It is a good vehicle for the studio to create interests and following with twitter.  I am following some famous people I know and it’s interesting to see what they are doing throughout the day.  I can see it being useful for business.

Uploaded some videos to my site and youtube.  Mostly the routines Tim and I have been working on.    I’m putting my website URL in my email signiture now, I want to keep things updated.   Maybe I’ll spend some time to add more contents to my site too.

The keyboard shortcut apps: AutoHotKey for pc and Quicksilver for Mac

List keeping software: Google Docs, Todo.txt using keyboard shortcuts to add, iPhone Shopshop.
Current preference: shopshop

Efficient ways to reduce trips up and down the stairs betwen Office and Living area:  setup hot water area and snacks, basket for carrying stuff

I made a trigger in QuickSilver to post a new blog to my site.  Option-B.  One to open the google docs so I can update my lists Option-G.  It’s easy to learn the basics for QuickSilver but hard to even scratch the surface as a casual Mac user like me.  But I can see how useful it can be in the Mac world.

I spent (wasted) a lot of time today in the Itunes App Store looking for apps.  It IS a huge time drainer.  I’m sure there are some very powerful and useful apps in there, but you just don’t have the time to search for them one by one.

Started to play with the facebook a bit today.  Wow, lots of  young people are fully immersed in it.  Truly a socializing place for the young’ums.  Not sure what use I can really get out of it.  Will stick with it a bit longer though.  Together with twitter.  Brandon had a great idea about using it for business like LDC so the studio can post happenings and people can follow.  Very clever.

Yeah, it’s a great little app and very powerful.  I’ve setup three keyboard shortcuts, one for the blog, one for todo and one for the timesheet for LDC.  And along the same line, went to HP and downloaded the keyboard driver so I can setup the extra buttons.  Some how, I never used those buttons on the keyboard.

It took some programming skill to use the autohotkey app.  But I guess only programmers would be geeky enough to want to setup keyboard shortcuts to reduce the keystrokes for common tasks and repetitive strokes.  I wish I have found it a long time ago.  It would have helped out a lot of what I did at work.  But it’s never too late.

Wow, I found a gold mine for Windows shortcuts.  Stumbled onto the AutoHotkey while reading an article on how to use Google Docs better.  Downloaded it and wow, I’m excited.  I can create keyboard shortcuts to anything I need to do now.  Yea!!!!!  It’s like when I discovered QuickSilver for the mac.

Hmm, what can I do with it now….

Since Leo retired, he is using the office a lot more throughout the day.  There can only be one person at the desk the way it was setup.  So I finally decided to move my PC downstaris to my office today.  I have a lot more room to spread things out and do my video editing.  Connie brought me a lot of VHS tapes to convert to DVDs.  I can just come down to my office and start that project whenever I need to.  I do like this setup better than before anyway.

I used to do my computer work on a small workstation, I can not work long without feeling fatigue setting in.  Now, I work on the old dinner table  with lots of room to put my elbows and writing tablet and coffee cup, etc.  I can work for longer time now without backaches.

REally taking it easy in the past couple of days.  I think I am rushing a bit on my recovery going out shopping and stuff.   I started to bleed a little agian yesterday.  After all, it’s only been one and a half week so far. I should not rush it.

Went to Giant Eagle today and had to take a nap afterwards.  Man, my stamina or energy is just not there yet.  And now I feel a bit of pain after running up and down the stairs to get the grill started for the steaks.  Even though I don’t have sharp pains from the surgery, these little tell tale pains are there.  I need to pay attention to it more and let the body get the proper recovery and rest.
