Frustrating. That’s how I feel about it right now. I booked a lesson yesterday and sat down with Peggy to have her show me how to do spindle spinning. I’m using a basic top whorl drop spindle and the Louet Coopworth roving. Peggy didn’t like it. It doesn’t spin for long and so park and draft would be the only way to spin. I know it takes practice to achieve a consistent yarn. But it’s frustrating watching fat yarn coming out all the time. I want to make some lace yarn and I guess it’ll take a while before I can get any decent yarn made. The arms do get tired too from holding the roving in one hand and spinning the spindle and winding the yarn with the other.
Patience, paitence. I only made a single, need to ply two to make the yarn and then wash and dry and winding into balls before I can knit with it. It’s a long process, not one for some one with no patience!!
