Just modified the ‘Post to WordPress‘ script from Viticci’s iBook on Editorial and successfully posted a test blog. I had to remove some codes that didn’t work, ones like retrieving categories and tags from my site. And I had to hard code my login and password too. Those are the things I have to work out in the future. But I know nothing about Python and this is the first Editorial script I used, so I took the easy way. But even that, I am pretty happy.

I am going to change the way I blog totally, but I’m looking forward to learning Editorial and all its goodies. For example, I was able to get the link for the ‘Post to WordPress’ script by clicking on ‘Links’ under the tools icon (another script from Viticci) and it’s automatically inserted for selected text. Lots of goodies to try out.

Don’t know how to insert a photo yet. I used to take a photo with my iphone and use the WordPress app to create a new blog and publish it. Then go back from the browser to add text in. Now, I don’t know what I’ll do. But I’m sure I will figure out a way to do it. This is the kind of things I did for my job for year s and years. And it’s interesting to me. Something to keep me motivated and learn new things. I’m excited.

I cheated and used the browser to upload this photo from my ipad. The photo was taken on the iphone and photo streamed to ipad. A convoluted way to get the picture here. Got to find a better way.

Now later: I reinstalled the script again, and this time, it worked after I put in the xmlrpc URL, and entered the Fill Login fields. I don’t need to hard code my username and password or alter any other code, well except in the end where it tries to get the shortened URL. I don’t know how to fix that, so I put my blogs URL in there. All is well.
