An absolutely great article on commonplace book. Recently learned about this from a youtube video, I believe it’s one of Rhomany’s Realm’s videos. And started googling and learning about it. I have a DIY notebook in a fauxdori leather cover that is now being used as a commonplace book where I jot down notes from watching Youtube, DVDs, reading. The new found enthusiasm in using notebooks, pens, coloring has lead me down a road of rediscovering past interests and some suppressed hobbies. What used to be considered as time wasters is now a hobby and the creativity generated from them is fun and inspiring.

It’s a beautiful Sunday and I went and got my hair cut real short.  Once in a long while, I would do this just for a change and also when the bit of hair by my ear flips to my annoyance at the time.  I feel very light and like it.  While Leo cooks a chicken burger dinner, I took Benny for his afternoon walk and saw the clouds in the sky in such a brilliant display, I whipped out my iPhone and took a picture of it again.  Gosh, still don’t have my instant camera with me.  But with a little adjustment, the picture is ok.

Intrigued by the new iPhone 6 Plus and probably would get one when it’s available.  Leo said the online preorder is already out.  Wow, can’t believe the number of iPhone followers can be so big and crazy.  But it is time for Apple to come out with a bigger phone to answer the need on the market.

JT is coming to LDC this weekend and I will have a couple of lessons with her tomorrow.  It’s always exciting to learn from her even from my level. She can teach anybody at any level with a smile and constant encouragement.  That’s just who she is.  A world class dancer and teacher with a next door girl’s smile.

Last night when Benny and I took our walk, the sky was a gorgeous red and fabulous blue. So my iphone was out to keep some not so good pictures of it. While we walked on, a neighbor was out with a camera doing the same thing. It was really beautiful.

While browsing on youtube, I discovered zentangle.  After watching quite a few people doing the doodling, I feel motivated to give it a try myself.  The first time took over an hour and I doodled several pages in my journal.  I found that although I can’t draw, I can certainly doodle.  Not good, but it actually centers me and keeps me focused.  Don’t know what it is about doodling that interests me so much.  There is a sense of guilty pleasure knowing that I am not productive and yet I enjoy the process.

Yesterday, I bought a sketch book from Hobby Lobby so I can do my doodling in it.  And this is the first page.  Think if I can keep an intention for each of the dooling page, it serves some kind of purpose.  And it’s fitting to start the journal with the intention of ‘love’.

E and R  moved out Monday.  It turned out to be a long day!  The movers didn’t show up till 1:30 in the afternoon.  And they didn’t finish till 1:30 in the morning.  R left just when they started for his month long trip.  He didn’t plan that way, it just happened that way.  E ended up helping to move the boxes in the end trying to get it done.  We were both exhausted at the end of the day but happy that everything has been moved into her new home.

It took another few days to get 95% of the boxes unpacked and kitchen and bedroom settled.  There are still boxes left for R when he gets back to tend to his books and desk setup.  I do like the place though.  I have termed it my vacation home from now on.  It sits on a golf course and from the sun room we can see golfers out there.  It’s spacious and now feels like a home.
