Love my midori style notebook.  Just never remember to bring it with me when I’m out and about.  Got to have a better plan.  Whenever I hauled my notebooks with me, I usually didn’t have time to even take it out of my bag.  But when I left it home, I have so many ideas I needed to jot down.  What gives!!

So in Panera when I did have it with me, I made a list of things I’d like to have with me on the go.  Think it’ll help?

Broke out the ink pad, project life card, washi and had a field day.  Just wanted to cover up some ink bled through from the other side of the page and nothing good to write about.   Was in a self-pitying mood today and trying to cheer myself up with some pretty colors.  And to be honest, I haven’t used much of the stamps and ink pads I bought.  Now that they are easy to access, it actually motivates me to take them out and play with them.  In that aspect, life is good.

Side note.  The page photo was actually uploaded by IFTTT to this blog, but it was rotated 90 degrees.  I didn’t know how to rotate it back since the picture is actually linked to IFTTT’s picture locker I think.  So I used the wordpress app on the iphone and put the picture in and uploaded.  The picture is right side up this time, but it went to my family blog.  This is just not my day.  But I posted on both blogs.  Maybe that’s an achievement.

Speaking of having no memory, I have none.  Not when I was young, even worse now.  So it is not a surprise when I “discovered” draft posts on my blog that I don’t remember putting there.  After a bit of research, I finally figured out how they got there.  It was from an IFTTT or IF recipe I created.  Because I took so many photos on my iphone to use for blog posts and never uploaded them or wrote about them.  I had an inspiration one time to use IF to automatically upload the photos to my blog as drafts and then I can go in and add my thoughts to the pictures later.

Of course I promptly forgot that I did this and today I finally logged into my wordpress blog and saw lots of photo blogs in draft.  This explains so many posts published today.  Hopefully I’ll remember this now and come back to check and finish all my posts.

IF is a very useful tool for absent minded people like me.  It not only can automate photos to blogs, it can send today’s weather to you in email at sun rise, for example and much, much more.  I love logging into

and browse its recipes to get ideas to use.

Watched Robyn Lott’s youtube video on how to make pen loops.  I liked it so much that I went to Target and got the hair ties she suggested and made myself some.  Of all the pen loop videos I watched, this is the easiest and I think the most useful in my opinion.  It can be attached to any notebook you want to use and it’s elastic in addition to sizes you choose to fit any pen you want.  I used some milk carton cutout for those pens that have the rubber grip which won’t slide into the elastic ones easily.  So now I’m all set to use these in my midori or my filofax.

Here are my midori notebooks and my morning journal.  The top one is from Mariann of pocketfullofvintage on youtube, and the second one from ChicSparrow on Etsy.   I love Marianne’s notebook even though it is not as professional as Jennifer’s but it was much cheaper.  She exchanged email with me on such a personal level her notebook just has more meaning to me.  There are two pen loops in the first notebook that I made today.  They are perfect for the pens and the notebook.  I’m very happy about them.

Just found the pencil case (or cosmetic case) from Target’s dollar bin.  It’s actually 3 dollars.  Lately, I found myself wanting to journal on the road but have nothing to write with or journal in.  So I put together the pencil case and the top notebook to take with me in the car and when the mood strikes I can journal anywhere any time.

The notebook at the bottom is my morning pages journal.  The idea is from The Miracle of Morning Pages by Julia Cameron.  And I have benefited from writing in this journal that no words can describe.  Although I don’t do it every day, but every time I do I get some insights into the thoughts or problems in my life.  The divine wisdom that dwells inside miraculously finds its way onto the pages and into my conscious.  There is something magic in handwriting the thoughts instead of typing them on a keyboard.  I used to think that I can catch more ideas if I type them.  But quantify and quality are two different things.  If I want depth and insights, I have to write and they come when I get those thoughts to the paper.  It’s hard to describe or to explain why.  It just does.

Watched Christine Kobzeff’s nail routine and got inspired and went to Target and Ulta and got some nail polish and tools she suggested.  Some are coming from Amazon, too.  I’m liking the pink and nude colors right now.  And some of the things she suggested will definitely be on my favorites for Christmas gift list.  Love them.

Jonathan about to demo some techniques for me to video tape.  Clicked on the photo instead of video though.  But got a nice picture of him nevertheless.  He is such a sweetheart and so good at what he does.
