After being stuck inside for the last few days, we wanted to go out and do something.  It’s a beautiful day and sunny.  So we picked Fun Buffet in Streetsboro for lunch.

Benny is still a bit mopey.  He has been getting into a bad habit of chewing his paws and legs.  I had to put cone on his head to prevent him from drawing blood again and again.  I think he is finally getting better but he still licks incessantly.  Don’t know if something is wrong.  Hope not.  At least we don’t see red tint in his urine any more since before Christmas. Well, I spoke too soon. L told me he saw the tint of blood at the end of the walk this afternoon. So it hasn’t gone away. And from the xray he took, there is a stone in there for sure. Will have to call the vet Monday. I definitely don’t want to have any more pet after Benny and Tido. I get so worried about them, I couldn’t sleep well and it hangs like a stone in my heart all the time.

untitled-3-300x283I had the lomein prepared by the habachi chef.  It’s good as I remembered.  And the sushi is pretty good too.  I did over eat again but not too much.  We haven’t been there for a while.  The buffet is usually good with a lot of variety and it is usually busy every time we went there.  Have not talked to the owner yet at this place, but all the servers are Chinese and mostly from China.  They are very quick in cleaning out the dishes you’ve used and people were streaming in for lunch when we were there.  A decent place for Chinese Buffet.

It is cold and there are lots of snow all day. L and I decided early in the day that it’s a staying at home day. I actually got quite a bit done today. Took down the Christmas tree and the Christmas decorations and since I already purged a lot, they fit into a couple of containers nicely and the basement is less cluttered in that corner.

Made the cookie dough for butter balls, made white bread. Everything went along great till the last step. I forgot to set the timer when baking the bread. If L didn’t go to the oven and noticed there was no timer set, it would be totally burned. But it was not a total disaster, the crust is dark and hard but the bread is nice and soft. Will try it again in a couple of days. Got the bug to cook. Maybe I will cook more this year. Looking forward to some tasty food.

It’s the second day of 2014, and I haven’t been to the gym yet. It’s one of my New Years wishes that I will exercise more. I can blame on the weather today, but I got to get myself off my ass and start doing it. No excuses!

Lined up a few projects already. Getting the photos page redone is one of them. Trying out new wordpress template for my site another one. Use my filofax daily and digitize them to evernote. Organize my evernote account. Got to check out google+ hangout too with the kids. Ya, it’s going to be a fun and productive year.

New Year’s Eve, L and I decided to go out and for me to have a steak. There is no good steak house around us, the only one decent restaurant we can think of is the Rosewood Grill in Hudson. I called and made a reservation for 4:30. An early dinner.

L went hiking again to reach his 10k steps for the n-the day. He’s been very diligent about hiking since Christmas. I stayed home and started working on ten filofax setup for 2014 and dipped a DVD for Tim. His copy always gets scratched and unusable. So when al got back and took a shower, I quickly changed and put on some makeup and we went.

We had calamari for appetizer and their bread was very good too. So were the soups, I had the Lobster bisque and L had French a onion Soup. My soup was a bit on the cold side but his is good. Our steaks came afterwards. We both had medium rare. They are ok. The asparagus were huge like little trees, and the potatoes are also huge with bacon bits and sour cream. All in all it was B. I have come to e conclusion that I can make better tasting steaks than most the restaurants can. But for the convenience, I would go out than cook in most of the time.

So the year is coming to an end. A new beginning closing in. Hoping to have a productive, healthy and happy year ahead.

Ordered Calamari and soup for appetizers. Nowadays, calamari is mixed with fried pickled peppers for most restaurant. The volume looks the same the substance is reduced. My lobster bisque was lukewarm but L’s french onion soup was great.

Just used ITTT to get pictures to this blog when I post on Instagram. It’s working now. This can be an easy way to post on the go. Take a picture on the phone and post it to Instagram. It will magically appear on my blog via ITTT. Talking about workflow!

Want to do a better job documenting my life here. Hopefully this can help me be more productive.

For some odd reason, I wasn’t able to sleep last night. Got tired enough though, or at least my eyes were tired. Turned out the light and tried to go to sleep, two hours later, I was still in and out of sleep constantly. By 2:30am, I decided to just sit up and do some web browsing. I actually got some research done for Peter for his e-commerce site. Finally tried to go back to sleep again, but I was still conscious when L got up in the morning. I did get a few hours of sleep after that and got up around 11:30. A big messed up day.

Have been trying to stay awake and away from the bedroom today so I may be able to fall asleep easier tonight. Did a little bit of organizing in the basement, also hooked up and tested the xbox and the wii so when the kids come for Thanksgiving, they have something to pass the time with. Not sure how long Ey can stay with his cat allergy. Although Manfred is gone, Tido is still around and everywhere. We’ll see. I really hope he could stand it now with his shots so we can all hang out a bit easier.

Since the blood test result said my cholesterol is a bit high, I have been trying to eat better lately. Having been eating Salmon for the last few days when we went out, Olive Garden, Sylvester. And L cooked salmon for the Sunday dinner today, too. Haven’t got tired of it yet which is good.

Just after 7pm now and I’m getting a bit tired and sleepy. May give Benny an earlier walk and hopefully get a good night’s sleep tonight.

I like Marguette! We stayed at Doubletree right on the lake. It looks like a brand new hotel and after the crummy ones we stayed in for 5 days, it feels like we have gone back to civilization finally. We had a lake view on the 6th floor and from our window we can see boats, people walking on the board walk and docks going out to the lake. We picked a restaurant 5 minutes away and walked along the street in front of the hotel trying to find it. We didn’t find it, it’s actually a street over towards town, so we decided to eat at a restaurant right along the street we strolled down and had dinner there. Food was good. After dinner, we scooted over to the boardwalk and followed it back to the hotel and took some pictures along the way. I told Leo that I would love to spend a week there as a destination for a quiet get away. I have wanted to find a place like this by the lake where I can look out the window and see a tranquil scenery with a cup of coffee and read and write and meditate quietly. And this place fits the bill right on the money.

Just noticed the Ct toolbar on Firefox and found it to be Adobe’s plugin to the browser that allows you to blog from it.  Will test it from the browser next, I’m in the software right now.

Ok, so I have to do the editing in Ct (contribute).  After I setup the connection to my blog, I can do the editing in contribute instead of using a browser.  The toolbar is just a shortcut to go to the software.  hmmm. Not sure how useful it is.  If I have a lot of Adobe stuff, I guess I can use the Bridge to place them in the blog this way or in a website if I connect Contritue to it.  Well, interesting.
