Babies are growing and cute in their own ways. It’s Saturday again. Weeks just fly by for me. Every day, it reminds me of how careless I am with my time. There are so many things I want to look into and explore and I am just letting the time slips through my fingers.
Into bible studying and this word was in today’s reading.
When I walked Benny, I always keep my eyes open for the clouds. Yesterday afternoon, I saw some interesting formation with some plane trails. Sunset is the golden time for pictures!
Went to get my glasses adjusted. While we were waiting for another reader to be worked on, we went to O’Charley’s for lunch. Ordered too much for my appetite, took half home.
Slept in today. Leo went to his semi annual men’s dinner party with his gumbo and a bottle of raguci. I had a good FaceTime with Elim and Everett. He is such a happy boy.
Looking into doing bible study by myself. The two schools of bible study, traditional pen and paper with a journaling bible or digitally with a bible app. I can see benefits of both. In the physical world, the search for a “perfect” bible is real. Especially now I need large print with good paper and margins to write. Digitally, it’s so easy to download a different translation along with all the study guide and resources at your fingertip. I think the study can be done digitally, the prayer or reflection or notes can be done with pen and paper for me.
Still putting together and researching the methods. But it is exciting and fun.
A quiet day at home. Leo went golfing, Benny is sleeping. I get to explore, my favorite thing.
Lately, bible journaling has been peeking my interes. Went to the local Christian book store, and the kind lady helped me trying to find a journaling bible in vain. I need large print for my aging eye sight and there isn’t one that has a large enough print with a wide margin to write. We settled on a large enough print only, NIV thin line bible large print in our favorite color, purple.
I like the soft cover and the text is large enough to read. But the ghosting is distracting to me. Wish they used more opaque paper, I guess it’s a trade off between thin line and paper weight. The search continues. I don’t want to return it. I think I will keep it for reading or reference.
It has been a busy day today. Follow up visit with the family doctor and the eye doctor. The eye doctor was very pleased with my improvement, it’s 20/30 today. It was 20/50 last time. He said I could pass the driving test with 20/30 vision. Even though I have to shift my eye and use the peripheral vision to read the chart, he is still very impressed with it. He said improvement will slow down but it can still happen 6 months to one year.
And he assured me that my brain will adjust to the vision eventually so I won’t feel unbalanced like I do occasionally feeling the floor is not even. But there will always be distortion in my vision. That will not go away.
My joke is that Leo has a very small head comparing to his body in my vision. That is getting better now and it’s just his eyes are squished together.
I have been craving for Dairy Queen’s Blizzard for a while. So we went after the dotor’s Visits and Benny’s walk, I got a turtle pecan cluster blizzard. My small is twice the size of Leo’s strawberry Sunday. I shared some with him, it’s more than I can eat. I”m not an ice cream fan, but once in a long while, I like to have a blizzard.
Healing from illness, emotional pains, is something we go through life with. We hope that the time is short and we are back to our healthy self. Sometimes, that happens, sometimes we are left with some kind of a scar. Either way, it is our attitude about it that matters.
I overdid it today. Thought I should go and do some chores shopping instead of going home and sleep after lunch. I didn’t get a good sleep last night. So off I went and went and went. The weather is hot and my stamina isn’t quite 100%, so when I came home, I was spent, exhausted and not feeling too well.
Sometimes, we should listen to our body and take it easy on ourselves.
I did the word soul a few days ago and at the time, I wanted to write the word spirit. In Chinese, these two words usually gether for either spirit or soul. But I think it’s more appropriate to use them separately for each.
Thinking about promoting my facebook page where I posted these words which is separate from the personal page. But I can’t pull the trigger yet.
Made this one yesterday after I remade the header for this site. Love the bird brush I got for free from the prrocreate’s forum. They have a lot if you have the patience to look for them.
Leo and I went to Michael’s to get some picture frames for him. He has been printing a lot since he got the super discounted Cannon printer. It’s a great printer when it lasts. Our last one clunked out either from the 3rd party cartridges we bought or because the long time in between printing that dried out the cartridges.
I used the 50% coupon and got a set of tombow dual brush pens in pastel colors. I love those colors.
It just happened that this word came to me from reading Ram Das’s “Be Love Now”. I’m just in chapter 3 now and his message is very similar to Eckhart Tolle’s Now message.
Couldn’t sleep last night so I got the kindle out and read a bit. That actually gave me the nudge to finally fall asleep. Why is it that my mind races at night and my body loves to rest during the day. But at this stage of my life, I can live my day at night and my night during the day. Still….
It’s getting harder to pick words to write. Not that there aren’t hundreds or thousands of words. It’s my limited mind. I only want to write words that inspire me that day, and it’s my own fault not immersing myself in reading and exploring.

We went to Lih Wah for dim sum and Coco Bakery for pastries today. I have been craving for dim sum for a week or two now. And we made the trip today into Cleveland. Food is good, not great. Considering it’s a Thursday, I can give them a break I guess. The service was a bit lacking also. After we got the dim sum from the cart, I tried in vain to get someone’s attention for our tea and chopsticks even standing up for a while. Finally the people sitting at the table next to us talked to the waitress that brought food out from the kitchen for them told her about our needs. There were men in vest standing by a round table talking to the guests there who never paid us any attention. The poor waitress was serving our side by herself. Their focus of service seemed to be on the side closer to the side walk. Those of us in the middle section has few servers and less attentive. I saw one of them moved chairs back and forth and then went back to chatting with guests.
Weekends are probably better time to go.
