Leo and I went and checked out the hiking trail near downtown Kent last weekend. We have talked about it for a while and just haven’t made it till now. At first we tried to find a parking spot near the new bridge but there is no place to park. So we drove to downtown and easily found a place on the bar street. The old bridge is being repaired and all blocked up except for a passway for the pedestrians. From there we went down by the river and walked south.

It is such a nice trail, easy to walk and plenty of places to rest if needed. We crossed the road and went through the park which I can’t remember the name of. There is a Kent State trailer parked at the entrance allowing people to sign up for their outings like canoeing and kayaking. I am really tempted to try one out even though Leo will not. There is a spot that you can get the canoe down the river too.

After the hike, we went to Ray’s and I had my wings and sunstixs.

It was a great day.

The kids made dinner last night, spaghetti sauce with squash spaghetti and also with real noodles. It’s so nice to be able to share these happy moments
with them even though it’s only going to be for a few weeks. They have very busy lives being doctors and long commute for E. But they still make time to cook and share meals with us. It’s such a blessing to spend time with your grown children.

The clouds at sunset has such beautiful color. The iphone takes pretty good pictures, but it still doesn’t do it justice. I had to use the psexpress app to brighten up the shadows and increase the contrast, etc. The weather has been chillier and I need a jacket now when I get out at 8pm. Summer is always too short here in NE Ohio.

Went to 3 Palms in Hudson for dinner Sunday.  I was pleasantly surprised.  My memory for this place from the outside was just a pizza place from before.  They changed ownership and now it’s a hip place still serve pizza but it’s very impressive.  The deco is a bit rustic with welding tool for lamp shapes above the bar.  And the bar is huge.  Just wood table and bench or high chairs in the dining area.  But the food, oh my.  First, you get to choose from a list of meat balls and a list of sauces for appetizer.  There are plenty other appetizers on the menu, but you have to try the meat ball.  I shared a lamb meat ball (6oz) with Leo and it’s delicious.  Ryan also ordered a cheese plate and I was introduced to the Bumble Berry beer.  Again, wonderful.  We all shared pizzas and they are great too.

All in all, a great experience and a good place to go for a casual dinner.

Saturday, Leo needed to get an estimate to fix a mysterious dent on his front bumper which is close to the Tinker’s Creek Tavern, so after we got the car looked at, we went to the Tavern for lunch.  It was a gorgeous day and we sat outside in the patio.  It was pretty full already, but we got a good table in the middle that has a great view of the creek.

We like their food and we like the view.  There is a golf course right across the creek too.  Leo had their gumble and fish tacos, and I had a salmon salad and a dirty martini.  They were as good as usual.

Of course, I immediately fell asleep after we got home and had a long nap in the afternoon.  I am such a light weight now.  If I have anything to drink for lunch, I can’t last past an hour afterwards.  Therefore an unproductive day.  On the other hand, who says you have to judge a day by productiveness.  Life is good if you can enjoy it!

It’s been a quiet day today. Leo went golfing early for the breakfast and golf at the Good Park. I haven’t had a morning to have the house all to myself for a while. Strange that when you are alone, you want company. But when you have company, you want alone time. So I found myself getting excited for the peace and quiet. Well, maybe not that quiet. Tido has started to meow whenever he is awake constantly. He is driving everybody crazy and testing our patience too.

Suddenly a lot of things popped into my head that I would like to do. Is it really true that you are more productive when you are alone? I don’t know. But that was how it went this morning. I got some LDC web work done, painted my nails, wrote in my journals, tried out pens, did some web browsing for stationary. Before I knew it, Leo was home. And E came home early too. Then R came home early. Pretty soon, the house was full again in the afternoon. But I had a good quiet morning to myself and I am quite happy about it.

Every once in a while, you need to give yourself some alone time and do something that’s been bugging you or do nothing and just be quiet for a moment. It does the soul a lot of good when we give ourselves some quiet and alone time.

I’ve been taking pictures of the clouds a lot lately. It started when I needed a picture of the clouds to modify another photo. Then I started paying attention to clouds and now I notice them almost every time I’m out and about and see a lot of beautiful clouds and cloud formations. It may become a hobby to take pictures of the cloud the way it goes. They are really beautiful if you pay attention.

The other day when I went out with Benny, a cat sat right in front of our garage enjoying some sun. He looked at us as if it’s his space and we are interrupting his sun tanning. Just like a cat.

Another post for testing. The weather is a bit unpredictable today. It was sunny, then it rained then it was overcast when I walked Benny. He got rained on for his afternoon walk and had to cut it short. So he was quite anxious to go at night. It was a bit chilly but fortunately it didn’t rain.

We went to Aladin in Hudson for lunch. Took a picture of the almost gone curry chicken wrap appetizer and uploaded this blog and the picture from my ipad.

It’s a success!  Thanks to the article and script by Jacken at JackenHack.  It took me a while to figure out how to do this even with his clear explanations.  I went and got pythonista for my ipad and it was the wrong thing to do.  It may have installed the wordpress xmlrpc for pythonista but it didn’t install it for Editorial.  Finally followed his instruction to the “T” and put the pipista.py file on my mac then use the itunes to add the file to the Editorial app.  Then use the console command line to install it.  Yes, just like he said but I was that dense to not follow it exactly.

I’m very glad though to have found his script that does exactly what I need to do.  It would be so much more elegant if I have found it when I was on this path the last time when the blog was hosted on my home server.  Nevertheless, it’s got a good ending and I’m very happy about it.
